Well I woke at 2.00am wide awake, feet itching. Eventually took an anti histamine. A,arm went off at 8.00 I snoozed it, big, big mistake. Woke at 8.45am, needed to be at the quay side for 10.00. Quick swill and off waiting for the bus and waiting and waiting. Then realised at wrong bus stop. Got on the bus and I thought ok, this is ok. Then the bus driver said couldn't go any further because it's St Patrick's Day and the road is closed for a parade! By now It's 9.40 and the ferry leaves at 1000. I had to chuckle to myself as Stan from HK said he always stays at the Marriott? The Marriott is two minutes walk to the quayside, my hotel 40 minute walk lol. Anyway, I got to the ferry and the boat was still there and then they can't find my reservation. No problems in HK didn't speak the language but all cool; in Australia communication breakdown. Eventually, they sort of founded my reservation but the woman who was doing the ferry trio said oh just come ill sort it out later. Aren't I glad I did. We had to run for the ferry, mot a pretty sight. But the trip was fantastic. Two hours taking in all the bays, beautiful absolutely beautiful.
Then upon return I took a ferry to Watson's Bay and here I am at Doyle's having lunch. What a lunch it is. I can see Sydney city and the top of the bridge. It's all I ever thought it would be and more.
At Doyle's I started with the seafood platter. Prawns, squid, prawns, smoked salmon, oyster and octopus. Beautiful. I then had lobster and prawn salad. I picked every last piece of meat from that lobster. I was washing it down other a half bottle of Semillon! If I had one last meal on earth, I think this would be it. Ask fresh. Many people were eating the signature dish of fish and chips, but it didn't seem right lol. I am going I finish off with tipsy strawberries. Strawberries soaked I Cointreau with ice cream and cream and then coffee. The whole bill is probably going to be what spend on food in a week but hey ho, I've done it, I've ate at Doyle's another dream come true.
So I am going to explore Watson's Bay whilst I am here and then may go and look at some beaches. I haven't allowed myself enough time here in Sydney so will just have to come back lol!
PS need Stan now lol meal come to £95 lol but worth every penny lol lol
